Earth Day, The Flaming Rayburns, and Boston

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.  Romans 5:5

Quite a weekend.  Zach and I ran the local "Bolt for Bell" 5k during the Earth Day Event at Brookside Park.  We both ran well and took home some hardware.

Sunday night Susie, Zach, Tyler Skinner and I played a concert in Demotte.  It was great fun and everyone played well.  Susie spoke about autism and OAR.  We raised quite a few dollars for autism research.  Thanks Bill and Bev for inviting us.

In national news, the American hopeful, Ryan Hall, took 3rd place today at the renowned Boston Marathon.  Great job, Ryan, we are proud of you.

He is Risen!

Matthew 28:5 "...The angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.  He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.

Acts 16:9 "Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.  And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"  So they said "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved."

Happy Easter all.  Just a quick post to say that Shannon and I did the Valpo half marathon this morning and had a great run.  It wasn't too cold or windy and with the hills and being so early in the season, I was pleasantly surprised by my time.  Shannon AKA "The Pink Flash" was happy with her time too.

Blessings.

Good News

Hey, thought a new post was in order.  We have been busy living life around our house lately.  Saturday we had a big celebration open house to celebrate that Chloë has been ONE YEAR SEIZURE-FREE!  We give God all the glory for this and thank Him for this blessing.  Although this pic may not reflect it, she had fun.  It was a beautiful day and lots of folks showed up to give our girl a hug and praise God with us.  Besides the great food that you would expect when Susie is in charge, we also had a keg of root beer and made root beer floats.  Good times.

In running news, Zach and I also ran a 5k Saturday morning in nearby Valporaiso.  We both did well and had a good time.  Great way to kick off the race season.  Shannon and I will be returning to Valpo next weekend for the Valpo half-marathon.
